Ian Findlay, President

Ian Findlay founded LightWire in 2005 after a career in corporate IT services.

Prior to founding LightWire, Ian had a distinguished career in technology consulting firms, Internet startups, and corporate IT.

After graduating from Trinity College in 1992 with a degree in History (minor in East Asian Studies) and ALMOST a second degree in Computer Science (1 credit shy), Ian immediately began working in IT consulting for companies in both Boston and New York City. In 1996, Ian co-founded the Internet web development and marketing company Marketing Engineers (based in Boston). MEI was eventually purchased by the London-based consulting firm Conduit Communications, a global technology consulting firm. Conduit was in turn purchased by the Boston-based technology company i-Cube, which was then purchased by the international Web consulting company Razorfish – a series of transactions that truly epitomized the fervor surrounding .dot com services companies at the turn of the century.

Ian eventually left Razorfish and joined the international business strategy consulting firm Monitor Group as the CIO for Marketspace, Monitor’s sister brand focused solely on providing technology media, marketing, and consulting services to its client base.

In his free time, Ian is a passionate athlete, competing in triathlons, masters swimming, and as a telemark skier. He is active in his home town of Belmont, MA as a lacrosse coach, and as a non-profit board member. His wife Lynn Findlay is a realtor, and his two teen-aged children are busy, busy, busy in the Belmont school system!
